May the Spirit Never Die

It’s that time of year, sisters. I know you’re all probably not ready to think about the next school year, but if you are still going to be in school, it’s time to think about completing your Free Application for Financial Aid (FAFSA).

By completing your FAFSA early, you will be able to ensure that you get the most Financial Aid that you are eligible for from your college or university. There are some funds that do run out for colleges/universities so be proactive and get it done early.

Even if you have not completed your 2013 taxes, make sure you still complete your FAFSA! Once you complete your taxes you can log back in and make any corrections necessary and transfer your tax data right in.

This blog post by Maura Kastberg “What You Need to Know About Filing the FAFSA” explains everything that you will need to file your FAFSA and five important things to keep in mind. I encourage you all to read it!

Additionally, as a Financial Aid Counselor at New England College, I do help students complete FAFSA’s quite frequently. As your sister, I would like to invite any of you to email me if you need assistance completing your FAFSA even if you attend another college/university.
