Kappa Delta Phi National Affiliated Sorority, in conjunction with Kappa Delta Phi National Fraternity, held its Annual Convention at the Portland Marriott at Sable Oaks in South Portland, ME on April 5, 2008.

This year, the undergraduate membership chose The Ronald McDonald House as the national philanthropy. Through the national philanthropy, each sorority chapter provides support for their local RMH house/chapter through various fundraisers and service projects. In the spirit of philanthropy, and in partnership with The Ronald McDonald House of Portland, Kappa Delta Phi National Affiliated Sorority convention attendees also donated new board games, stuffed animals and dolls, books, puzzles, children’s movies and educational video games, and outdoor sports equipment and games. In addition, the Board of Directors of Kappa Delta Phi National Affiliated Sorority presented the Ronald McDonald House of Portland with a donation in support of the local chapter’s endeavors.

The Jeannette M. Collette Kindness Award, presented to the chapter which best exemplifies acts of philanthropy performed for an individual, its host university, the community, an organization, and/or other notable causes, was received by Kappa Upsilon Chapter from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. The Kappa Upsilon chapter sisters performed over 91 hours of service per sister to achieve this annual award.

The Kappa Delta Phi National Affiliated Sorority Highest GPA Award was presented to Kelli Donovan of Kappa Alpha Gamma chapter (SUNY New Paltz) for her 4.0 GPA.

Various other tributes were paid to both chapters and individuals for leadership and scholarly achievements throughout the school year.
